Ranch House | 02
Ranch houses are the most common style of mid century home in suburban California. They have a straightforward construction and are therefore relatively easy to update and reinvent in a modern aesthetic.
For the first phase of this project, we were tasked with remodeling their kitchen and rethinking the master suite. We then moved onto updating the pool house and home office.
The single-level residence is ideal as a Forever Home. With the clients' young boys leaving for college, we future-proofed the master bathroom by incorporating a teak shower seat in the new curbless shower. The sliding bar for the hand shower is designed to be grabbable and weight-supporting increasing the overall safety of a wet environment.
Extra wood blocking was added in the walls during construction to accommodate future grab bars.
