For those of you yearning for an off-the-grid cabin with a side of acreage, prepare to be jealous!
In the last week, Chad and Andrea caught a flight to Reno, then drove 3 hours north to look at a clients property in Modoc County - the county in the north eastern corner of California.
The property was stunning: 316 acres of pine and cedars at an altitude of 6,000 feet. We found a fantatic location, with views over the valley, for a new 1,500sf house.
What captured Chad's interest was the abundance of water from the springs....in AUGUST! Not only will these springs be a fantastic source of water, but it looks like there's enough flow to power the house with a small scale hydroelectric system.
It was a great trip, with Andrea and Chad settling into some well worn barstools at the end of the day, making friends with the local members of a biker gang.
Talk about a fun trip!
